Tutti Frutti

In Summer 2007 commercial and residential property developer Urban Splash launched a competition for people to design their own Homes Sweet Home at New Islington, Manchester's Millennium Community.  From 20 entries six self build schemes were chosen to take their designs forward.  When the houses are built the judges will chose one of the six as the best designed property and the winner will win back the price of the plot from Urban Splash!

The six properties show a mix of designs and approaches that will create a unique and colourful streetscape.  The chosen few are:

• Studio Verna
• The Black Diamond by Glas Architects
• Blockbuster by Rupert Goddard, design director at Sheppard Robson, Manchester
• Re-Fab by Chance de Silva Architects
• Designers Roberta Haslam and Richard

 

The first phase has secured planning permission whilst Urban Splash launches the second phase of Tutti Frutti.  A movie following the development of Phase 1 and further details about Phase 2 are available from www.newislington.co.uk/tuttifrutti|.
